Mr. Weidlinger presented the company DB Schenker and explained how they help Santa Claus to save Christmas this year.
Getting merchandise from China in time is extremely difficult due to the Corona situation. So this is a big problem for many Austrian companies.
Schenker offers a special service called SKYBRIDGE which combines air freight and ocean freight – it helps the customers to save time AND cost.
The students learned a lot about the duties of forwarding agents and how they can solve problems. ETD, ETA, TEU, FCL, LCL, FOB …. were just some expressions they learned and they also had a look at the biggest container ship EVER ACE, which can transport 24.000 containers (TEUs).
At the moment this job really is quite stressful!
